🃏 How to sell trading cards

Card buyers judge corners, edges, surface, and centering — your photos must let them. A black card sleeve as a backdrop makes edges read cleanly, and a low-angle diffused light reveals surface scratches and print lines that straight-on light hides. Raw cards need corner close-ups; graded slabs need the label and cert number sharp.

📷 Photographing

• 🎨 Black or dark grey card sleeve as a background — edges and corners read cleanly
• 💡 Diffused light at a low angle to reveal surface scratches or print lines
• 📐 Front centered, back centered, and a 45° corner shot to show edge wear
• 📛 If graded: photograph the slab label + cert number clearly
• 🔍 Raw cards: close-up on all four corners — that's what buyers check first

📦 Packing & shipping

• 🪪 Raw: penny sleeve → top loader → team bag. Graded: slab sleeve → rigid box or bubble mailer
• 📬 Rigid PWE (plain white envelope) works for single common cards; use a bubble mailer for anything over $5
• 🟧 "Do Not Bend" stamp or sticker on the outer envelope — required by most card buyers
• 📦 Multiple cards or a graded slab: use a small rigid box, not a padded envelope
