💻 How to sell electronics
Electronics buyers are checking two things: does it work, and is everything included. A dark matte surface (a desk mat is perfect) kills reflections, and soft overhead light keeps screens and glossy plastics readable. Photograph the serial number — it builds trust and protects you in a dispute.
📷 Photographing
- 🎨 Dark matte surface — reflects less light and makes the item the focus
- 💡 Soft overhead light, no flash — flash washes out screens and ports
- 📐 Front, back, all ports + buttons, any accessories, and the serial/model number
- 🔒 For sealed items: shoot the seal from every angle + all four box corners clearly
- 📦 Show what's included — cables, manuals, original packaging score big with buyers
📦 Packing & shipping
- 📦 Use the original box if you have it — wrap it in bubble wrap, then place in a snug outer box
- 🫧 Double-box fragile items: inner box fully surrounded by ≥2" of bubble wrap on all sides
- 🔒 Sealed items: do not open to inspect — ship as-is; document seal condition in photos
- 📮 Mark the outer box "Fragile" — USPS handles it the same but it helps with insurance claims
- 🏷️ Insure anything over $100; declare accurate value — replacement cost matters at claim time
