👔 How to sell clothes

Clothing photos live or die on the backdrop. A flat lay on a dark bedsheet or a garment hung on a bare wall beats any cluttered room — buyers need to judge cut and color, not your furniture. Shoot mid-morning near a window and keep the camera square to the garment so proportions read true.

📷 Photographing

• 🎨 Flat lay on a dark surface or hang on a plain wall — no distracting backgrounds
• 💡 Diffused natural light — avoid direct sun which blows out light colors
• 📐 Front, back, tag (brand + size + care label), collar/cuffs, and any flaws
• 🔍 Photograph stains, fading, or pilling at close range — never hide defects
• 📏 Include a flat lay measurements shot — pit to pit + length — for vintage sizing

📦 Packing & shipping

• 👕 Fold tag-side up so the size label is visible if the buyer opens without unfolding
• 📦 T-shirts + most shirts: 10×13 poly mailer. Jerseys + hoodies: 14×17 poly mailer
• 💧 Double-bag or wrap in a plastic grocery bag before sealing — poly mailers aren't waterproof
• 🏷️ USPS First Class is cheapest under 1 lb; Priority Mail for anything heavier
