📖 How to sell comics
Comic condition lives in the details: spine stress, corner blunting, staple rust. Shoot on a white or light surface so spine color and cover art render true, and angle away from windows — glossy covers throw glare. Photograph the spine straight-on; it's the honesty shot collectors trust.
📷 Photographing
- 🎨 White or light background — spine color and cover art need true color
- 💡 Diffused natural light — direct light creates glare on glossy covers
- 📐 Cover, back cover, spine, and staples (rust = value drop)
- 🔍 Photograph spine stress marks, corner blunting, and any tape repairs
- 📛 If graded: slab front + label with cert number + slab back
📦 Packing & shipping
- 📖 Sleeve + backing board first, then into a rigid comic mailer (Golden/Silver/Modern sizes)
- 🟧 "Do Not Bend" on the mailer — always, without exception
- 📦 Graded slab: wrap in bubble wrap, ship in a small corrugated box (Gemini mailer if available)
- 📬 Media Mail is not allowed for comics — use USPS First Class or Priority Mail
