👟 How to sell shoes
Sneakers sell on silhouette and condition honesty. Set up a photo spot with a dark or grey backdrop — a chair draped with charcoal fabric next to a window works — because white midsoles and light uppers disappear on white backgrounds. Shoot the full lateral profile first: it's the shot buyers scan for.
📷 Photographing
- 🎨 Dark or grey background — white midsoles and light uppers pop best against it
- 💡 Window light from the side, no flash — shows texture and scuffs accurately
- 📐 Shoot lateral, medial, heel, toe box, sole, and tongue/interior label
- 🔍 Close-up on any flaws — buyers will find them; disclosing upfront avoids disputes
- 📦 If you have the original box, include a shot of the box label (size + colorway)
📦 Packing & shipping
- 📦 Wrap each shoe individually in tissue paper, then place in the original box
- 🗃️ Put the shoe box inside a USPS Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Box — it usually fits and shipping is a flat rate
- 📮 No original box? Use a 12×12×8 corrugated box with crumpled kraft paper to fill dead space
- 🏷️ Size 14+ boxes are heavy — weigh before buying a label; Priority Mail is often cheaper than Ground for long distances
